Vicki Meek, MS, RN, CNE
Associate Professor and Clinical Placement Coordinator
Vicki Meek is an associate professor specializing in mental health and population health nursing. She joined the undergraduate BSN faculty at the College in 2013 after teaching for 20 years at William Jewell College in the nursing department where she also served as chair for five years. She began her career in nursing education at Penn Valley Community College. Meek has held nursing positions locally at Marillac Center for Children, the Visiting Nurse Association, Bethany Medical Center and Charter Behavioral Health System, and Karr Rehabilitation Services as a case manager and director.
Meek has published in the Journal of Nursing Scholarship, and the International Journal of Instructional Technology and Distance Learning, presented in more than 13 local, national, and international conferences in the area of civility in nursing education, mistakes in professional practice, attitudes of care for the aging adult, and the effects of adverse childhood experience in the nursing population.
Meek was the recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award from the Research Foundation Board in 2006 and Professional Achievement Award at Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences in 2017. In addition, she has been a member of the International Nursing Honor Society (Sigma Theta Tau International) since 1993 serving for many years as a faculty advisor and maintains membership in the American Nurses Association and American Psychiatric Nurses Association.
