Biography

Assistant Professor Lauren Dercher joined the faculty at Saint Luke’s College in fall of 2015. She earned a BSN from Avila University in 2010. She completed her MSN in Nursing Education from Saint Luke’s College in 2015. She previously worked on the Medical Intermediate Cardiac Care Unit at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City serving in multiple capacities including staff and charge nurse since 2010, and continues to do so on summer and school breaks.

Lauren holds licensure in both Kansas and Missouri. She holds multiple certifications including PCCN (Progressive Care Certified Nurse), Clinical Faculty Academy, ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), and BLS (Basic Life Support). She is a member of the AACN (American Associations of Critical-Care Nurses) and Sigma Theta Tau. She is a co-investigator for the ACEs research project at Saint Luke’s College. She was the primary investigator on her thesis paper “Student’s Perspective of the Academic Service Partnership as an Approach for Clinical Learning.”
