Director of Medical Assisting Program
Donna Gardner joined the College in the summer of 2017. She completed a master’s of public administration with a health care focus from Western Michigan University in 2008. In 2005, she earned her bachelor’s of science from Western Michigan University. She has her associate degree in medical assistant technology from Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
She most recently worked as a program head at Vance-Granville Community College in Louisburg, North Carolina where she was responsible for the management of the medical assistant program.
Gardner worked for 13 years as a certified medical assistant in a clinical setting at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In 2008, she began work as an instructor at Everest Institute in Kalamazoo, Michigan and in 2011 served as the program director at South College in Asheville, North Carolina. She currently works as a subject matter expert/content specialist for Learning Mate based in New York, New York reviewing content for medical assisting textbooks.
She is a member of the North Carolina Association of Medical Assistant Educators (NCAMAE), the Michigan State Medical Assistants (NSMA), and the North Carolina State Medical Assistants (NCSMA).
