Dr. Koch joined Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences as the Director of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program and Associate Professor in July 2018. In 2002, she earned her BSN from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and worked in intensive care and surgical services before transitioning to Chief Operating Officer for Eye Care Specialists, a tertiary care ophthalmology practice.
Upon completion of her MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner Track from Southeast Missouri State University, she worked in rural primary care, urgent care and college health. She also served as the Director of the Campus Health Clinic, caring for the students, faculty and staff.
In 2016, she earned her PhD from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her research focuses on studying the impact of barriers to care for rural patients with multiple chronic conditions.
She most recently taught at the University of Memphis in Tennessee as an assistant professor. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, Missouri Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau and Midwest Nursing Research Society.
Koch brings a desire to engage diverse populations of students to become health care leaders to patients across the lifespan in a rapidly changing environment and help underserved populations identify and obtain their personal health goals.
