Instructor Mary Poskin joined the faculty in the spring of 2016. She has been an adjunct faculty member since 2014. She earned an MSN from the University of Kansas in Kansas City, Kansas in 1993 and a BSN from St. Mary of the Plains College in Wichita, Kansas.
She recently worked in the in the postpartum follow-up program at Saint Luke’s Hospital providing support, assessments, and education to new mothers. She was a Clinical Research Nurse in the Perinatal Center where she collaborated on various clinical research studies, grant writing, and data analysis. She has years of experience as a perinatal educator working with high-risk obstetric patients in the clinical setting and as a prenatal educator, teaching new parent classes. Her love of contributing to the health and wellness of families began with her first experiences as a staff nurse on the postpartum unit.
Mary has participated in numerous research activities and grants. She has been published in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
She is a member of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) and of Sigma Theta Tau.
