Dr. James A. Hauschildt was appointed president and dean of the college in 2014, after serving as dean since 2011. During his tenure he hired a significant number of new faculty and supported implementation of new educational technologies. He also fostered new curricular and instructional innovations, and collaborated with Saint Luke’s Health System and community partners on various new programs.
He has a doctorate in education and a bachelor degree in psychology—both from the University of Northern Iowa. He has a master in business management from Webster University, a B.S.N. from the University of Kansas, and a nursing diploma from Allen Hospital School of Nursing.
Dr. Hauschildt’s healthcare and teaching career spans over 20 years in both military and civilian environments, with clinical and research emphasis in the areas of critical care, curriculum design and instructional practice, Healthcare Informatics, and Healthcare Quality Management. He maintains an active nursing license as well as Board Certification in Nursing Informatics from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
