Join Donna O’Malley, PhD, RN, and Brijin Gardner, LSCSW, RPT-S as they discuss Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) and Implications for Care: Building Resilient Families in KC.
O’Malley is the Director of Community Programs, Department of Social Work at Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics and the Project Director of Partnership for Resilient Families. Gardner is the Director of Clinical and Social Services at Kansas City’s Operation Breakthrough, one of the largest early childhood education centers in the country.
Operation Breakthrough and Children’s Mercy Hospital’s formed the Partnership for Resilient Families in 2013. Together they identify gaps in current services related to the social determinants of health and explore optimal health care delivery models to address the physical, mental, behavioral and developmental health needs of the children and the families they serve.
Gardner and O’Malley will discuss how the health of populations in resource-poor and underserved communities can be changed for the better. You can read more on their topic here.
