Brie Cantrell joined the faculty in the fall of 2016. She has a master’s in Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from Vanderbilt University. She earned her BSN from Truman Sate University in Kirksville, Missouri.
She most recently worked as a Health Risk Condition Management nurse at Premise Health formerly CHS Health Services at Burns & McDonnell Health Center in Kansas City, Missouri where she worked to improve and promote wellness and provided oversight of the Health Center Staff.
Cantrell was responsible for the development and implementation of Cerner’s Healthe Kids, a nonprofit program to provide free health screenings to children in Missouri schools. She was responsible for the development and implementation of the St. Sabina Wellness Program at Healthe Kids Institute to provide free health screenings to parishioners.
She was a nurse practitioner specializing in family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and correctional health for over four years.
Cantrell has presented at several national conferences including the American Academy of Pediatrics, American School Health Association, and National Association of School Nurses. She was the keynote speaker for Truman State University at the Department of Nursing Capstones of Nursing. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International.
