White and Byrd awarded $1,000 scholarships from Children's Mercy Hospital

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (April 25, 2014) – Two Saint Luke’s College students have been awarded scholarships of $1,000 each from scholarship programs at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Saint Luke's College President announces retirement

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (March 31, 2014) - Dr. Dean L. Hubbard, president of Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences is retiring effective August 1, 2014.

Dr. Hubbard has been working with the College since 2010, initially as chair of the board of directors and then as president. This is the second time Hubbard has retired. He was president at Northwest Missouri State University for 25 years: 1984-2009.

Disaster Preparedness students spend Spring Break in humanitarian field exercise

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (March 25, 2014) - A spring break trip to Florida usually includes sand, sun, and a beach towel, but for nine Saint Luke’s College students Florida wasn’t a tanning opportunity.

They spent four days participating in a humanitarian relief field exercise at the Treasure Coast Public Safety Training Complex in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Nursing students in Haiti for medical mission

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Mar. 25, 2014) – Twenty students* in the “Medical Mission” class went to Mirabalais, Haiti, over the March spring break where they lived in an orphanage and conducted medical clinics. Associate Professor Laurie Brooks and Assistant Professor Deb Grandstaff organized this 2014 trip.
