Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences Nursing Students Participate in a Medical Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic

Nursing students from Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences spent their spring break providing clinical assistance to the impoverished people of the San Juan de la Maguana area of the Dominican Republic.

San Juan de la Maguana is home to 150,000 people and is located forty miles from the Haitian border. Two young Dominican doctors founded the medical facility and opened the clinic doors in 1989 in one of the poorest areas of San Juan de la Maguana.

Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences Nursing Honor Society Inducts 27 New Members

The Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences Nursing Honor Society inducted 27 new members on February 20, 2011. The Induction Ceremony was held at the Ritz Charles Hotel in Overland Park, Kansas. Forty-nine persons attended the dinner and induction ceremony. John Farnsworth, BSN, RN, Honor Society President welcomed guests.
