R.N. to B.S.N. partnership between College and Saint Luke's Health System begins spring 2015

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (June 25, 2014) - Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences is partnering with Saint Luke’s Health System to offer a R.N. to B.S.N. program for hospital employees beginning January 2015.

Registered nurses who have completed their general education coursework take 30 credit hours to complete their B.S.N. Applications are accepted beginning July 1, 2014 and close November 1, 2014.

“This partnership meets a critical need to support Saint Luke’s nurses who would like to complete their bachelor’s degrees,” according to Saint Luke’s College President/Dean Dr. James Hauschildt.

“Whatever the college can do to contribute to Saint Luke’s Health System meeting Magnet and IOM goals is a priority for all of us,” he said.

Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs, Dr. Jane Hedrick, said that students could connect to the program remotely, so that all System nurses could take advantage of this educational opportunity.

“We believe that courses organized with both face-to-face and online components can create a very rich learning environment which also maximizes the student experience.”

Online learning components vary depending on the learning objectives of the course.

A list of required courses and additional program information is available on the College website: www.saintlukescollege.edu
