Lisa Vansaghi, MD has taken the role of Chair of the College’s Board of Directors. Dr. Vansaghi joined the Board of Directors of Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences in 2017 and had served as Vice Chair of the Board for the past year.
Dr. Vansaghi attended William Jewell College with study overseas at Cambridge University, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular Biology. She then earned her medical degree at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 2000, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine at KU Medical Center. She served as chief resident, then joined the faculty as Assistant Professor in 2004.
Her career has been balanced with clinical, research and leadership activities. Her clinical roles included serving as a teaching attending on the inpatient general medicine service as well as outpatient General Medicine and Obesity Medicine. She gained clinical research experience at KU as the medical director of the NIH-funded Obesity Medicine clinic. She also served in an educational leadership position as the Internal Medicine Residency Program Director from 2008 to 2014.
In 2015, she was recruited to join IQVIA (then Quintiles) initially as a Principal Investigator and Medical Research Director in Early Clinical Development. She transitioned in 2017 to her current role as Medical Director of Immunology and Internal Medicine. Lisa’s professional focus is on ensuring patient safety and data integrity in clinical trials through teamwork and clear communication as well as attention to detail. Dr. Vansaghi lives in the Kansas City area with her husband, Tom, and twin 11-year-old sons.
