Assistant Professor Andrew Bayne joined the faculty in fall 2018. He earned his BSN from Central Missouri State University in 1996; an MSN in Nursing Education from the University of Central Missouri in 2011; and his DNP in Advanced Health Care Leadership from Regis University in 2014.
Dr. Bayne maintains a clinical practice at North Kansas City Hospital as a member of the Rapid Response Team.
Dr. Bayne’s research interests include rapid management of patients with a declining medical or physiological condition. He also has an interest in helping staff nurses identify patients with the declining conditions. He has an interest in examining health care disparities for the LGBT population.
Dr. Bayne’s teaching expertise is in the field of Critical Care Nursing and he has spent the last eight years teaching the clinical component to this nursing specialty. Other areas taught include Adult Health and Fundamentals Nursing.
He has earned and maintains his CCRN in adult critical care practice, ACLS, and BLS.
